Pediatric Hospitalists
If your child has an illness or injury requiring hospitalization, he or she may be be cared for by one of our Pediatric Hospitalists. A pediatric hospitalist is a doctor who works primarily in a hospital. They care for children in many hospital areas, including the pediatric ward, labor and delivery, the newborn nursery, the emergency department, and the neonatal intensive care unit.
Pediatric hospitalists work with your regular pediatrician and other physicians and providers involved in your child's care. If there is a significant change in your child's condition, a pediatric hospitalist will update your pediatrician. By having hospitalists on premises 24/7 Stamford Hospital can provide your child with high quality care, day and night, during your child's entire hospital stay. They are available to answer all your questions about your child's condition as the need arises.
